Struggling Croatian food conglomerate Agrokor wants fresh financing from its biggest lender Sberbank, adding to its existing €1bn debt with the bank and said it is close to a new loan from other banks.

A meeting was held between the government-appointed commissioner in charge of the company’s restructuring, Ante Ramljak, and first deputy chairman from Sberbank, Maxim Poletaev, on Monday, the company said.

The company is in the final phase of arranging terms for a new loan with potential creditors, it said.
