AXA Investment Managers has hired Craig Hurt as fixed-income product specialist in London, a new position. Hurt joins from Investec Asset Management, where he worked with consultants and charities in the U.K., marketed to pension funds in South Africa and assisted with the development of Investec’s fixed-income process. At AXA, he will work on product development and will market the firm’s bond products to pension funds.
Hurt said he joined AXA because of its fixed-income expertise and because he wanted the opportunity to focus on bonds. AXA has made a commitment to grow its fixed-income business in the U.K., he said, and his hire, along with other recent hires, demonstrates that. Hurt reports to Joanna Munro, head of institutional business development in London. AXA also hired Paul Griffiths, Investec’s former fixed-income head, late last year as chief investment officer for the U.K.
Investec is looking to hire a professional to replace Hurt, according to a former colleague.
