Credit default swaps on General Motors and Ford Motor reached their highest levels ever following speculation GM may file for bankruptcy. GM's CDS jumped 219 basis points to 1207 while Ford's widened 100 basis points to 910. [Neither company has filed for bankruptcy as of last Thursday.
