ABN AMRO has hired Wing Hong Chan, v.p. in the corporate advisory group at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong, as v.p. of derivatives marketing for the financial markets group at ABN in Hong Kong. Chan will handle derivatives marketing for Hong Kong and China, according to Bruce Shu, spokesman at ABN in Hong Kong. Chan reports to Greg Major, senior v.p. and head of Asia Pacific derivatives marketing at ABN in Singapore.
An executive recruiter in Hong Kong noted that Chan had replaced Peter Chang, v.p. of derivatives marketing at ABN in Hong Kong, who left the firm several months ago. "There had been a hole there for sometime," noted the headhunter. Shu declined to comment on the matter.
An official at J.P. Morgan said Chan reported to Guido Haller, managing director in corporate advisory in Hong Kong. Haller was traveling and could not be reached for comment. Chan referred queries to the spokesman and Major did not return calls.
