Cantor Fitzgerald has hired Christina Hansen, an equity derivatives trader and structurer at Goldman Sachs in New York, to join its growing New York credit derivatives brokerage team, according to Dan LaVecchia, executive managing director and director of U.S. operations. Hansen, who worked at Goldman Sachs for eight years before recently being laid off, joined Cantor about two weeks ago.
Hansen's hire is part of Cantor's rebuilding initiative that began about three months ago in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, in which the firm's World Trade Center offices were destroyed and many of its staff killed. LaVecchia said Hansen's background in equities will be a valuable asset for her work in the credit derivatives market. Hansen completes the hiring and the team will begin brokering deals shortly. The team has four professionals.
While at Goldman, Hansen reported to Scott Prince, head of equity derivatives trading. Prince did not return calls.
