BNP Paribas has hired Bruno Lebeda, treasurer at Credit Lyonnais in Seoul, for the same role. Officials at Credit Lyonnais said the move leaves the door open for Gin Lee, treasurer at Crédit Agricole Indosuez in Seoul, to head the merged office unchallenged. Lee declined comment.
Lebeda, who is due to start next month, will report to Eric Nicolas, Asia-Pacific head of fixed income in Hong Kong, who was traveling and could not be reached.
At Lyonnais, Lebeda reported to Frédéric Lainé, Asian head of fixed income and derivatives in Hong Kong, who did not respond to messages. Florence Chan, spokeswoman at BNP, declined comment.
