Merrill Lynch has hired Andrew Song, head of equity derivative index options trading, Mike Ebert, an analyst in Song's team, and Daniel Cangemi, an equity options trader, all from Goldman Sachs in London. Song joins as head of vanilla index options trading with Ebert continuing to report to him. Cangemi will be a director in the exotic index options business headed by Mat Porter.
Porter and Song both report to Chris Vogelgesang, head of complex equity-linked products in London. Melanie Gerlis, a spokeswoman for Merrill Lynch, confirmed the hires and Rebecca Nelson, spokeswoman at Goldman Sachs, said the staffers will be replaced.
