JPMorgan Swoops On Merrill For Equity Chief

JPMorgan has hired an equity flow sales head from Merrill Lynch.

JPMorgan in London has hired Adrian Valenzuela, head of equity derivative flow sales at Merrill Lynch, in a similar role. Andrew Caplan, responsible for hedge fund sales in Valenzuela's group at Merrill, is also due to join him at JPMorgan. The two were on gardening leave and could not be reached. Stefania Signorelli, spokeswoman at JPMorgan and Alex Walker, spokeswoman for Merrill, did not provide immediate comment.

Valenzuela and Caplan joined Merrill in the summer from hedge fund firm WMG (DW, 6/23). Prior to WMG, the pair also worked together at Lehman Brothers.
