JPMorgan in Hong Kong across asset classes for Asia ex-Japan has tapped John Robson as head of retail structured products. Robson, who joins from Nomura in Hong Kong where he was co-head of equity derivatives, said the structures he is working on are well established in Europe and are beginning to gain ground in Asia. He declined to comment further on his position. It could not be determined whether this is a new role for the firm.
Icy Chua, spokeswoman at Nomura, said the firm has not yet decided whether to replace Robson directly. Akihiko Yajima, head of Asia equity derivatives and previously co-head with Robson, and Terence Tan, head of Asia equity derivatives sales, are covering the role in the interim, Chua said.
