Dan Oakes, head of international ECM origination at Commerzbank, is changing roles with the bank and moving to Paris.

The exact nature of Oakes’s new role at the bank has not been announced internally and it not clear whether it will still be working within the bank’s overall equity capital markets franchise.

Oakes, who is also a managing director at the German bank, is responsible for EMEA ECM origination for all geographies outside of the Germany-Austria-Switzerland region. Jens Voss heads the overall ECM business at Commerzbank.

Oakes has been responsible for the local management of the London-based ECM team including the equity syndicate and convertible origination functions.

Before joining Commerzbank in 2010, he was a partner at STJ Advisors and was involved in the development of its equity capital markets and equity-linked advisory franchise, working on the origination and execution of IPOs and block trade advisory projects.

He joined STJ from Nomura Securities where he was co-head of convertible bond origination and head of equity capital markets origination for the Germany-Austria-Switzerland region.

Commerzbank declined to comment.
