John Lee-Tin 1970-2018

It is with much sadness that we have to report the death of John Lee-Tin.

He died on December 26. He was 48 and had been suffering from cancer.

Lee-Tin was a managing director and head of public sector debt capital markets at JP Morgan, based in London. He had been at the US bank for nearly 19 years, and in London since 2004. He started his career at Bear Stearns in New York in 1992.

Troy Rohrbaugh, head of macro markets at JP Morgan, made a statement on behalf of the bank: “John was one of the most popular and accomplished people, not just on our own trading floor, but across the public sector capital markets industry. We will deeply miss his relentless positivity, and the sheer energy that he brought to colleagues, clients and friends alike. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, and to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.”

A funeral service will be held on Friday January 11 at 3pm at St Mary’s, Cadogan St, London SW3 2QR. The nearest London Underground station is Sloane Square. Those attending are encouraged to dress in "John-style": smart-casual.

A memorial service is also planned for later in the year.

In appreciation of John’s efforts to raise funds for cancer research, his family have suggested that anyone wanting to make donations should make them to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute. Some of the specialists who took care of John over the past two years are part of this institute.

GlobalCapital has published a full obituary. We would like to offer our condolences to John’s family and many friends.
