CSFB Reportedly Loses Three High-Grade Traders, Hires One

BondWeek is the leading news publication for fixed-income professionals, covering new deals, structures, asset-backed securities, industry and market activity.

Credit Suisse First Boston has reportedly lost three traders from its high-grade desk, while hiring one. Jerry Cudzil, a senior trader, has left the firm and will join Goldman Sachs when his non-compete agreement expires, according to several traders. Cudzil declined comment, as did Paul Huchro, head of investment-grade trading at Goldman. Peter Nason, who recently took over as head of the desk, did not return calls.

Fran Mulvey, who traded Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificates and project finance credits, resigned to join J.P. Morgan Securities. Mulvey could not be reached, and a call to Jon Gray, who runs the high-grade business at J.P. Morgan, was not returned.

Sal Morale, a junior utilities trader, left to join Merrill Lynch. He did not return a call to his cell phone, and Tom McCreary, who runs the desk at Merrill, declined comment.

Finally, CSFB has hired Doug Brown, a senior trader of industrial credits, from HSBC Securities USA. A call to Joe Petri, head of global markets for North America at HSBC, was not returned, nor was a call to Brown's cell phone.
