Goldman Sachs Hires Packer

Goldman Sachs has hired Craig Packer from Credit Suisse to serve in a senior role in U.S. high-yield capital markets.

Goldman Sachs has hired Craig Packer from Credit Suisse to serve in a senior role in U.S. high-yield capital markets. At Credit Suisse he was the managing director and head of high-yield capital markets. His title at Goldman and to whom he will be reporting could not be determined. He is currently on gardening leave, but is expected to begin sometime this summer. A Credit Suisse spokesman confirmed Packer has left but declined further comment. It could not be determined who will replace him.

Packer became the head of U.S. high-yield capital markets at CS in July 2003 after Jon Ezrow, CS's former co-head of U.S. high-yield capital markets left to join GoldenTree Asset Management (BW, 7/21/2003).

At CS, he was responsible for originating, structuring and marketing high-yield new issue. He joined the bank in November 2000 when it merged with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He joined DLJ in 1992. An email to Packer was not returned. A Goldman Sachs spokesman declined comment.
