Merrill Lynch Hires Deutsche Bank Trader

Merrill Lynch has hired Peter Buettner, director and co-head of the correlation group at Deutsche Bank in London, as a director in exotic credit derivatives trading. Buettner, who started last week, reports to Neil Walker, head of credit derivatives trading in London, according to Walker.

Buettner will be responsible for trading and risk management of transactions that involve structured credit and exotic credit derivatives together with Thu-Uyen Nguyen and Ed Selby, according to an internal memo. Buettner will also be responsible for new product development within credit derivatives.

Officials at Deutsche Bank did not return calls by press time.
