Merrill Shuffles Credit Staffers In U.S.

Merrill Lynch has transferred two New York-based collateralized debt obligation structurers, Ken Margolis and Scott Bohner, into sales roles, and is sending Bohner to its San Francisco office. Doug Mallach, co-head of credit sales in New York, to whom the sales pros report, said the transfers were made "in response to explosive demand for dedicated structured credit sales expertise."

Bohner will also report into Curtis Baker in Chicago, who heads up the firm's sales activity outside of New York. Margolis declined comment and Bohner did not return calls. An official at the firm noted that the two would likely be replaced in their structuring capacities as part of the move by Chris Ricciardi, head of CDOs in New York, to build up the firm's structured products operation.
