JPMorgan has hired James Smith, an equity derivatives marketer at Goldman Sachs in New York, for a similar role covering insurers. Smith, who did not return calls, is filling a new seat, created because of the firm's effort to build up its insurance coverage, said Adam Green, managing director in equity derivatives. Smith reports jointly to Green and Steven Roti, v.p. in the equity derivatives marketing group, according to Brian Marchiony, spokesman in New York.
Ed Canaday, spokesman at Goldman Sachs in New York, confirmed the departure.
