Helmut Fischer, an executive director, and Ansgar Scharnke, director, are set to leave UBS risk mangement products in London. Several market officials close to the pair said they are likely to head to Merrill Lynch. Scharnke, reached at UBS, confirmed he is leaving, declining comment on whether he will resurface with Fischer at Merrill. Fischer could not be reached.
At UBS, the duo was responsible for selling structured equity products and hedge fund-linked products to corporates and institutions. They reported to Will Kennedy, managing director and head of risk management products in London. Kennedy was traveling and did not return a message left on his cell phone. Patrick Meyer, spokesman for Merrill in London, did not comment by press time.
