Jasper, now ceo of Primus Guaranty, was a founding board member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association 20 years ago while working with Salomon Smith Barney. Jasper was also the trade association's first co-chairman, joined a year later by Kenneth McCormick, president of Kleinwort Benson Cross Financing. During his 17 years with Salomon, Jasper was responsible for setting up its market-leading interest-rate swap business. It was also during this time that he joined forces with McCormick and other swaps market officials to launch ISDA. Jasper went on to become global treasurer of Salomon and chairman of Salomon Swapco, before joining Primus, an AAA-rated credit protection seller. In this most recent venture, he is overseeing an expansion of the firm, which has announced its intention to become a CDO manager, and is also looking to set up an office in Europe.
