Calyon has hired Rahul Mani, a senior credit derivatives flow trader at Barclays Capital in London, and Matthew Miller, former credit trader at Commerzbank. Mani and Miller were on gardening leave and could not be contacted. The pair will report to Olivier Gazzolo, European credit trading head in London, who confirmed the hires, declining to comment on the exact nature of their roles. Mani is due to start in December, while Miller will start next week.
At Barclays, Mani reported to Andrew Whittle, head of European credit derivatives, and Kai Seeger, European head of CDS trading, who himself joined from ABN AMRO earlier this month. Whittle confirmed Mani's departure and said his role is being covered by staff on the desk. Market officials noted the firm is actively seeking a replacement.
Miller left Commerzbank at the end of the summer. Robin Evans, head of corporate bond trading, confirmed Miller has been replaced, declining to name the replacement.
