SG Corporate and Investment Banking is to launch globally a managed constant proportion portfolio insurance structure. "Rather than just linked to a single strategy or index product, the manager of the deal will be looking at several strategies such as tranche trading, options, and long-short plays," said a firm official. The product will be capital protected through CPPI and hit the market within weeks.
Distributed globally, the deal will be structured out of Europe and facilitated by a European manager. The SG official added that the structure will be the firm's second, following up on its Jet Stream issue over the summer, which was managed via SG Asset Management (DW, 7/1). The official declined to name the fund manager for the upcoming deal or to make further comment.
