The Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Gonzalo Amian, a v.p. in structured derivatives marketing at Goldman Sachs in London, to sell structured products into Iberia. Amian, who is Spanish, joins as a director and will report to Sian Hurrell, head of structured solutions, said Murray Parker, spokesman in London. He added Amian's position is a new role created in response to an increase in business from Iberia.
At Goldman, Amian sold structured credit, equity and rates and reported to Jose-Antonio Carreterro, head of Iberian sales, who was unavailable to comment. Rebecca Nelson, spokeswoman in London, confirmed Amian's departure, declining comment on a replacement.
