Dharmendra Patel, v.p. and equity derivatives strategist at Goldman Sachs in London, has left the firm. Patel, reached on his cell phone, confirmed the departure, declining further comment. A message left with Sandy Rattray, head of the fundamental strategy group, and Klaus Toft, head of sales strategy, was not returned and it could not be determined if a replacement for Patel has been named.
He is tipped to resurface at a hedge fund in a trading role. Goldman colleague Guy Shahar, an equity derivatives trader, also quit for a fund this month and is set to resurface at Marble Bar Asset Management (DW, 2/7). Officials at Marble Bar were not immediately available for comment.
