Malik Chaabouni, co-head of synthetic credit structuring at Merrill Lynch in London, has reportedly left the firm. His alleged resignation comes less than a year after he joined Merrill from JPMorgan to spearhead its synthetic CDO push (DW, 2/18). Patrick Meyer, spokesman for Merrill, did not return messages by press time.
Chaabouni declined comment when reached on his cell phone, but he has been connected with a role at Deutsche Bank, where his former JPMorgan colleague Bertrand des Pallieres is now co-head of structured credit trading. Des Pallieres could not be reached.
