Some tricks of the conference trade were spilled. Dan Patton, managing director at Babson Capital Management and moderator of a panel on secondary markets, said he is in the habit of counting heads while panelists talk. This year's panel drew 90 heads, he said, 50% more than last year's and he proposed this as evidence of growing interest in secondary markets. Good point and it's not for us to say whether his fellow moderators were dosing off or even listening to the blather.
