UBS has hired Stephen Sze, head of the third-party distribution group at BNP Paribas in Hong Kong, as head of fixed income distribution for Asia in Hong Kong, according to officials familiar with the situation. As first reported on DW's Web site, Sze established a cross-asset class retail unit last year at the French bank, joining from Deutsche Bank (DW, 10/14) for the effort. Sze declined comment. Sze is understood to be filling the position which last summer was vacated by Debbie Ho, head of fixed income distribution in Singapore, who left the firm to pursue personal interests (DW, 8/12).
Mark Panday, spokesman at UBS and Christine Chan, spokeswoman at BNP, did not return calls by press time.
