Goldman Sachs has hired Saad Ashraf, the former managing director and head of structured credit sales to Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Merrill Lynch in London. He resigned last month from Merrill (DW, 2/24) where he was also the head of the Islamic finance unit. Reached on his cell, Ashraf declined all comment.
An official familiar with the situation said he will join Goldman in June as a managing director and head of Middle East sales across asset classes. It could not be determined to whom he will report. Officials at Goldman could not immediately be reached.
