Merrill Credit Correlation Bigwig Quits

Neil Walker, managing director and global co-head of correlation trading at Merrill Lynch in London has quit the firm.

Neil Walker, managing director and global co-head of correlation trading at Merrill Lynch in London has quit the firm. An official familiar with the situation said Walker resigned last week and is thought to be taking time out of the industry. Walker declined comment when reached on his cell.

Walker was co-head with New York-based Ronnie Roy and reported to Dale Lattanzio, head of credit, real estate and structured products in London. Lattanzio did not return a message by press time and Alex Walker, spokeswoman, declined comment on a replacement.

Walker's departure follows several changes at Merrill including the departures of Malik Chaabouni, who jumped to Deutsche Bank (DW, 2/8), and Adam Clayton, who is tipped to land at Goldman Sachs (DW, 4/4). In turn, the firm poached four senior staff from Deutsche Bank; Paul Levy,John Young,Kwee Tee Lim and Roman Kogan (DW, 2/24).
