Equity derivative sales staffers covering Scandinavia have been a hot commodity recently. Regional knowledge is in demand as the Scandi equity-linked market grows, and with local dealers only small derivative players, home-grown talent is in short supply.
Janne Leirvik, v.p. at Deutsche Bank, has reportedly jumped to Bank Of America reporting to Patrick Sommer, head of European equity derivatives marketing. Sommer declined comment. Deutsche Bank has also lost Jesse Kaptein, director covering Scandi sales, who is thought to be joining Lehman Brothers. Axel Kilian, head of European equity derivative sales at Lehman, Kaptein and Leirvik, could not immediately be reached. Kaptein is tipped to take the place of Josef Mehkre at Lehman, who has left to return to his native Sweden. Anna Watson, spokeswoman at Deutsche Bank, declined comment on replacements.
Separately, Scandinavian salesman Carl Marshall-Davies has departed from BNP Paribas. Calls to BNP's sales desk were referred to Ruth Lavelle, spokeswoman, who did not immediately return a message. Marshall-Davies could not be reached and his destination could not be determined.
