Mutual fund valuation policies suggest only just over a third of them have methods in place for fair valuing derivatives. Deloitte's 2005-2006 Fair Value Pricing Survey revealed only 38% of funds in the U.S. have established valuation policies and procedures to address significant events for derivative contracts, compared to 84% for foreign equities. Paul Kraft, partner at Deloitte, tipped this figure to grow with the increased use of derivatives.
