Jefferies & Co. in New York has hired an equity derivatives trading head and senior trader from Goldman Sachs. Alexander Wohl, co-head of equity derivatives trading at Goldman, joins as head of the trading desk, and Benjamin Cohen, a senior equity derivatives trader, comes on board in a similar role.
At Jefferies, they will report to Jason Griffith and Ross Stevens, co-heads of equity products. Griffith joined Jefferies last month from SG Corporate & Investment Banking (DW, 3/24). Ed Canaday, Goldman Sachs spokesman, did not immediately respond to a message regarding replacements.
Jefferies is building an over-the-counter equity business (DW, 12/9).
