Nam Ho Lee, former v.p. and fixed income trader at Morgan Stanley in Seoul, has set up an investment firm in Korea which may employ over-the-counter equity products down the road. "There are a lot of great opportunities for us in the Korean market," said Lee. Dubbed VNS Investment Advisors, the firm will employ value, event-driven and distressed debt strategies in the domestic market. VNS will primarily focus on listed instruments but Lee noted it will likely consider OTC equity options as the fund expands. He continued the fund's priority this year is to build up a track record but thereafter it will begin a marketing effort.
