Citi Aussie Head Shifts To HK

Citigroup's Glenn Hodgeman, head of credit trading for Australia and New Zealand in Sydney, is transferring to Hong Kong.

Citigroup's Glenn Hodgeman, head of credit trading for Australia and New Zealand in Sydney, is transferring to Hong Kong. Credit officials at the firm said Hodgeman will assume a new role as head of U.S. and European credit trading in Asia.

Hodgeman, who set up the Australian credit desk (DW, 4/19/01), confirmed the move but declined further comment. "Citi has been a big trader in these markets out of Asia for several years, but it made sense to have a senior dedicated trader looking over the book," said an official at the bank. Officials noted Jared Barton, credit trader at Citi in Sydney, has assumed Hodgeman's previous responsibilities.

Citi has been boosting its derivatives business in the region and is in the process of setting up a dedicated hybrid trading unit (DW, 3/24).
