Barclays Capital has hired Mohammed Farid Bin Kairi, marketer at BNP Paribas in Singapore, as head of non-Japan Asia bank sales, focusing on foreign exchange derivative products. Bin Kairi, starting in the coming weeks, will report to Yue Wu, director and head of fx distribution for Asia-Pacific, in Singapore. Wu was traveling and could not be reached.

The British house has been beefing up its fx sales and trading capabilities in the region this year, including the hire of Wu in recent months, to spearhead its marketing effort (DW, 4/7).
