Bob Lenk, managing director in fixed income exotics trading at UBS in Hong Kong, has left to launch a financial firm. "I thought it was the right time to strike it out on my own," he told DW when reached on his cell. The former physicist transferred from Stamford, Conn. to Hong Kong in late 2003 within UBS (DW, 2/29/04) and was responsible for exotic trading as well as asset-backed securitization.
His firm, called Topstone Ventures and based in Hong Kong, will focus on financing and financial technology across markets but he said it was too soon to discuss specific details. Two additional partners will be joining and the firm is expected to open for business in the next few months.
Donna Chan, spokeswoman at UBS, did not respond to messages regarding Lenk's replacement by press time.
