Lifetime Achievement Award

Robert Reoch

Robert Reoch

Reoch earned his spurs setting up JPMorgan's credit derivatives group in 1994, which for a long time led the Street in terms of innovation and scale. It is also his regulatory efforts and work to educate investors, however, which earn him DW's Lifetime Achievement award. After leaving JPMorgan, he had a brief stint at Nomura International, before joining Bank of America as global head of credit derivatives. There too he was influential in shaping the growth of the business, before forming Reoch Credit in 2001. The consultancy works--among other things--on providing independent models for pricing credit derivatives.

He is well-liked by peers and his independent position means he now is able to play a vital role in educating regulators, investors and market participants alike. He has taken part in International Swaps and Derivatives Association's credit committees and was actively involved in the rollout of the credit derivatives definitions. He has contributed to several books on the topic, as well as writing chapters for British Bankers' Association credit derivatives surveys.
