Merrill Lynch in London has hired a pair of senior equity derivative traders from Credit Suisse. Imran Lakha joins as an index trader, reporting to Mike Pringle, head of equity derivatives flow trading. Maurice Asoyag is set to trade emerging market equity derivatives. Asoyag and Lakha were on gardening leave and Pringle could not be reached for comment.
Asoyag is tipped to be replacing Adam Lavis, who has transferred to Hong Kong. Lavis could not be reached by press time to comment on his move.
Lakha had been at Credit Suisse for over five years and Asoyag spent close to three at the Swiss firm. Amy Thompson, spokeswoman for Credit Suisse, did not comment on replacements for the duo by press time.
