It ain’t over: stagnant markets pose LBO default risk

Fitch warned on Monday that a second wave of medium to long term LBO defaults by 2013 cannot be ruled out. This is despite leveraged loan defaults rates having dropped from last year’s levels — European speculative grade defaults peaked at 10.5% in November, and will drop to 2.7% by the end of the year, according to Moody’s.
