Egypt’s EGPC makes unexpected request to international banks
Despite the fact that an interim government controls the country, Egyptian General Petroleum Company (EGPC) has contacted international banks with a request for bids. It was in the market for a $2bn five-year pre-export financing when it had to delay awarding the mandate following the outbreak of protests against the Mubarak regime in January.
