Macgregor leaves Aberdeen after less than a year

Head of credit research for Asia Pacific at Aberdeen, Charles Macgregor, has left the asset manager after joining from Aviva Investors in March this year.

Charles Macgregor, head of credit research for Asia Pacific, left Aberdeen Asset Management on November 5. The firm has not found a replacement to fill the Singapore-based role.

Australian-born Macgregor joined the asset manager in March 2012, from Aviva Investors Asia in Singapore, where he was a senior vice president in charge of Asia credit research.

Before this, he worked for Deutsche Asset Management where he was head of credit research for Asia Pacific and co-chair of the company’s global credit methodology committee. He has also worked for Moody’s.

At Aberdeen he oversaw credit research in Asia as well as working alongside the Australian and global fixed income teams. He was hired by the firm at the same time Thu Ha Chow was transferred from the company’s London office as a senior credit analyst in Singapore.

The company’s fixed income Singapore team is around ten-strong, covering currency and credit, with a further 12 in Sydney and five fixed income managers in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.
