EuroWeek poll: Banks to dominate European loan market

Some 82% of loans market participants believe that banks will retain their dominance in the European lending markets, even as regulation puts pressure on their balance sheets.

According to an online poll run by EuroWeek, the vast majority of market participants agree with the Loan Market Association, which argued in its response to a European Commission green paper that banks would continue to play a key role in the provision of long term financing.
