Austrian chemical and plastic packaging firm Borealis has signed a Eu200m export credit agency backed loan to back its joint venture polyolefins project in the United Arab Emirates. Oesterrichische Kontrollbank supported the dual tranche 18 month and eight year loan under its export financing scheme.

Emirates, Dubai’s state owned airline, is in talks with up to six banks for a $1bn revolving credit. Unsecured corporate borrowing facilities for airlines are unusual. Normally collateral in the form of aircraft is required by lenders.
