UAE engineering company Drake & Scull is set to close syndication of its $70m three year loan. The transaction, a rare deal for a Middle East mid-cap firm, is going well, according to several loans bankers. The loan has a margin of 325bp.

Twenty-two out of a total of 28 lenders have agreed to an amend and extend agreement on an $800m two year loan for Ahli United Bank signed in 2008. The agreement extends the maturity on $618m of the $800m total, pushing the maturity date out to April 2012 from October 2011.
