Casino operator Melco Crown Entertainment is planning to raise $1.2bn in the loan market, and approached banks this week while in the middle of marketing a $350m dim sum bond. But the company has made sure the extra debt from the bond will not hurt its chance to tap the loan market: it is using two different issuing entities to raise the cash.

Polish oil firm PKN Orlen has closed syndication on its Eu2.5bn five year one plus one refinancing. The size may increase following an oversubscription from a group of up to 15 banks. The initial margin is 135bp based on a leverage grid.

UniCredit’s Russian subsidiary is in discussions with lenders to refinance a $500m three year loan maturing in June. The borrower has not formally mandated banks for the facility but up to five lenders are seeking credit approval for the deal.
