Rexel took the opportunity on Tuesday to tap last week’s €500m bond issue, after the note had performed strongly. The French electrical equipment distributor sold €150m more of the June 2020 notes, priced on the previous Wednesday.

Takko, the German low budget fashion retailer, sold its debut high yield bond on Friday, but the deal struggled, having to be shrunk by €100m and priced wider than planned.

TVN, the Polish broadcaster, has postponed its €815m bond issue, due to what it said was "increased market uncertainty". The issuer decided to put off its planned high yield bond on Monday, after the market weakened slightly in the second half of last week (ended March 22).

International Vending Services sold its €200m debut high yield bond on Tuesday. The notes were priced inside guidance and initially traded well in the aftermarket, despite a rough day on Wednesday for Italian credit more generally.

Issuance of European high yield bonds has reached a new record in the first quarter of 2013. Some €32.1bn of speculative grade bonds were sold for European issuers in the first three months of the year.
