Treasurers predict PP growth as bankers work on docs

Private placements will become increasingly important for European corporate borrowers, treasurers said on Wednesday, especially as smaller firms seek to avoid investors’ prejudice against unrated or speculative grade issuers.

Rising appetite for PPs is coming particularly from midmarket companies that want to diversify their sources of financing and reduce their dependence on banks, said delegates at the annual conference of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers in Glasgow.
