Eight Norwegian banks set up joint covered bond issuer

Eight small Norwegian banks have set up a mortgage credit institution, Verd Boligkreditt, for the joint issuance of covered bonds.

The participating banks are Spareskillingsbanken, Skudendes & Aakra Sparebank, Lillesand Sparebank, Luster Sparebank, Flekkefjord Sparebank, Haugesund Sparebank, Etne Sparebank, and Søgne & Greipstad Sparebank.

The programme will be run on their behalf by Sparebanken Vest, which also has its own covered bond vehicle.
