KPN bonds widen 80bp on buyout rumour

KPN, the Dutch telecoms company, saw its bond spreads swing out on Thursday, on renewed reports that private equity firms are lining up to buy the company.

KPN is publicly listed, counting Carlos Slim’s América Móvil as a 20% shareholder, but has had Swedish private equity firms sniffing around the company for the last year.
