EU recovery funding will be 30% green

Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, said on Wednesday that 30% of the funding for the €750bn NextGenerationEU budget will come from issuing green bonds.

Von der Leyen made the announcement during her State of the Union address at the European Parliament Plenary. She also confirmed that 37% of the NextGenerationEU budget will be spent directly on European Green Deal objectives.
