HDFC Bank picks veteran banker as next CEO

India’s HDFC Bank has picked a successor to chief executive Aditya Puri, who will retire at the end of October.

The privately-owned bank has tapped veteran banker Sashidhar Jagdishan as its next managing director and CEO. He will take over on October 27, for an initial three-year term. Puri is scheduled to step down the day before.
