The bank has removed leadership uncertainty but the coronavirus means HSBC’s restructuring will be delayed.

When HSBC unveiled its strategic rethink on February 18, the coronavirus crisis was raging across Asia, its most important market, yet shareholders appeared more concerned by the lack of clarity at the top of the organisation as interim chief executive Noel Quinn set out a much-anticipated $6bn restructuring.
